About the John Galvin Memorial Sweet Shot Tournament
EVFAF lost our dear founder John Galvin in 2017. In recognition of his efforts over the past 24+ years of the Fund’s existence, we renamed our tournament the John Galvin Memorial Sweet Shot Tournament.
The tournament is our only annual fundraising effort. Its success has met our annual requirement to grow the revolving fund and replenish losses from the fund.
The financial success of the Sweet Shot Golf Tournament is the result of significant support received by community and business organizations acting as sponsors or underwriters of tournament expenses. Included in this group are the following organizations: Vail Valley Cares, Vail Valley Foundation, Edwards Rotary, United Way, East West Partners, FirstBank Avon, Vail Resorts and the Beaver Creek Resort Company.
